Organised by The History Press, a book-signing event took place on
August 15, between 12.30 - 3.30pm at Newcastle’s largest bookstore,
Waterstones.
The event went well, with dozens of signed copies of Haunted Newcastle
being sold. By the time the event closed all copies had been snapped up.
In addition, many members of the public who had already purchased
copies turned up to get them autographed by Darren.
Haunted Newcastle contains a treasure trove of spine-chilling accounts
from in and around central Newcastle. Places visited in the book include
Newcastle’s haunted theatres, Blackfriars Monastery, Old Eldon Square,
The Holy Jesus Hospital, the Dog Leap Stairs and many of the city’s
haunted pubs and inns.
Darren was informed that Haunted Newcastle is currently one of the
city’s best-selling books.
Darren is currently working on a number of other exciting book projects
within the Haunted series, including Haunted Durham, Haunted Berwick,
Haunted Carlisle and Haunted Hexham.
